At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love. It is impossible to think of a genuine revolutionary lacking this quality. -Ernesto Che Guevara

The third episode for our Jesus As… Series is something you wouldn’t hear every sunday from our pastors: Jesus being the most important revolutionary that ever walked this planet. As said from the quotation above from a famous (probably THE most famous) revolutionary Che Guevara, The true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love, no greater love has been given to us compared to the one Jesus gave us.

The theme being Revolution, the goal of our Work It! for this episode is to create a slogan concerning the social issues our country has been facing like the economic crisis, charter change, abortion, war and corruption; with a christian approach. Relating the solutions for these issues with our christian values. Everyone’s tibak side came out!

Our guest speaker for this episode is a professor from ATS (Asian Theological Seminary) and a somewhat revolutionary himself, Prof. Boy Bautista. He “compared” Jesus with Che, how they both fought for the ones they love and care about, how perfect they are, how their beliefs changed the whole world; but somehow, Jesus remained on top of the rank. He showed us how Jesus is a revolutionary; that you could only be a revolutionary if unconditional love is present.

For our Worthwhile, we listed the small things we could do to make a change in the society, for the betterment of the community. How we can be “revolutionaries” in our own way.

KEEP COMING BACK, GOD IS HERE WITH US!

Demon-@$$ Kicking Afternoon

The truth is, it is real hard to avoid sinning but we can. “Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack.” (1 Peter 5:8) At our weakest, devil will tempt us just like when Jesus fast for 40 days and 40 nights, was tempted by satan to turn stone into bread but Jesus is smart enough not to fall on that trick. But how could we overcome temptations that the devil has to offer us? Uhmm… how about pass an exam without knowing what lessons to review? How could you enter her heart if you didn’t know where’s the entrance? How can you face the problem if the problem is your face? HOW COULD YOU KICK A DEMON’S ASS WITHOUT KNOWING WHICH IS WHICH? KNOW THY ENEMY!!!

“The satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” (Proverbs 27:7) At our lowest is when the devil works on us. When trials are on the line and we feel that our Lord is way too far from us and we feel all alone (lengthen your bangs and hang it covered your eye). Jealousy, hatred, envy, and things associated, serve as bridge for satan to enter our hearts and ruin our spirituality. Guard your heart, your tongue, your actions, strengthen the faith and with the Son of God sent to earth, evil works will be destroyed.

Started out with our worship lead by the Team >2 with Podi who personified the tag line “Keep coming back, God is here with us!”, (LOL) is again with us Kabanatang Ilaw with his come back prayer and praise participation and an enthusiastic crowd who gave life to their desired characters. Costumes and
stuff made the event colorful. Hosted by patutoy raider Lara Croft/Hannah, the program went well. Pinatas designed to be the devilings to be smashed by the >2′ers for the WORK IT part, symbolizes how bad we wanted those devilings crushed into pieces (it doesn’t break into pieces but it flattens. I personally crushed it afterwards LOL). DS Jimmy Pante being our speaker, explained us about how the devil makes his move towards us christians. It is truly an interesting topic since a devil’s nature wasn’t always delivered in a weekly sunday service XD. Some new faces are there, first timers (we appreciate your presence, friends from Coloong), and the ever supportive KI youth are there. New things have learned, friends reunited, camaraderies are strengthen, and with our daddy Jesus being at the center of it all. Godbless.
